Ampersands for Haiti

posted by Noah at 8:00 AM

I'm pleased to announce that Font Aid IV: Coming Together, a collaborative typeface to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti, has just been released by The Society of Typographic Aficionados. It features ampersands from nearly 400 international designers, myself included (see ampersand below). The font is already for sale at Veer & Ascender Fonts, and will also be available at MyFonts and FontShop later in the week. All proceeds from the sale of the ’ÄúComing Together’Äù font will go to Doctors Without Borders, to help with their relief efforts in Haiti. More details and a full list of contributors can be found HERE.

Skullphabets in Japan

posted by Noah at 8:00 AM

Japanese publishing company BNN, Inc has included both of my Skullphabet fonts (#1 & #2), which I designed for my Skull-A-Day project, in their new book Type Fontbat. They are two of the 134 free fonts that actually come with the book on a CD. As of now it looks like the book is only available in Japan, but if you can read Japanese you can get more details on their site HERE.

Corporate Font

posted by Noah at 11:45 AM

French font studio SMeltery is offering several free fonts including this alphabet made up entirely of international corporate logos: COnsume More. It's reminiscent of artist Heidi Cody's classic American Alphabet.
