posted by Noah at 8:00 AM
Three of my Skull-A-Day images appear in the new book Design Play from Hong Kong's Victionary. The book is a collection of clever and playful design solutions and a section of it is devoted to their 100 favorite photos of real-life visual illusions...

Underworld II

posted by Noah at 10:40 AM
One last find under the house. It seems almost inevitable it would be a skull...

No other exciting forensic news to report, the excavation is complete and housework has resumed.

ALR on Tour: Skull-A-Day at Gel 2009

posted by Noah at 4:44 PM
Earlier this year I was invited to go to NYC to give a talk on my Skull-A-Day project at the 2009 Gel Conference. Each year Gel (which stands for Good Experience Live) brings together a really diverse range of folks to share what they do in just 20 minutes. The talks are usually very inspiring and guaranteed to get you thinking. While only a small number of people can attend in person, they kindly put the talks online as well for all to see. Definitely go check em all out, they're well worth your time. I was honored to be included this year and I'm already scheming about how to get back there next year by offering a workshop of some sort. I'm open to suggestions! Here's the video of my talk:

After Life: a skull exhibition

posted by Noah at 11:32 AM
Sorry for the lack of posting here, but after being in Austin for a week for the How Design Conference (which I'll post more about soon), I returned to put the finishing touches on After Life, an art show based on my Skull-A-Day project, which opens tonight here in Richmond, Virginia at Quirk Gallery. Here are a few photos of the installation of 100+ pieces, including several that have never been shown before...

Additional photos are on Flickr HERE.
The show runs through August 22nd, so if you are in the area please do stop by and check it out.

p.s. If you are a gallery owner and would like to bring this show or a show of large scale prints from the project to your space please get in touch.

I'm back!

posted by Noah at 12:48 PM
Sorry for the long silence from me here. I just wrapped up my year long blog project Skull-A-Day and it was consuming all of my blogging ability at the end. Now that it's moved on to phase 2.0 I'll be back to posting here with much more regularity. I have a large backlog of items I'm excited to share with you, so please keep checking back!

Thanks,
Noah
